St. Vincent General Hospital Cebu, Inc started in 1950 as a two-story maternity facility owned by the late Atty. Jose Taboada and his wife Dr. Natividad C. Taboada. After nine years of operation, they opened the San Vicente School of Midwifery.
By March 2001, SVGH limited its operations to the school and key hospital departments including the emergency room, imaging, and laboratory. After seven months, SVGH reopened all services under the management of Cebu United Doctors Incorporated (CUDI).
Since July 2008, St. Vincent General Hospital has been managed by a new board headed by Atty. Augusto W. Go as Chairman, Dr. Iben Ting as President, Ms. Candice Gotianuy as Managing Director, and Frederick Ong as Director.
St. Vincent today is a 140-bed capacity hospital accredited by the PhilHealth as a Center of Excellence and licensed by the Department of Health as a Tertiary Hospital. It has modern facilities, state-of-the-art equipments, and is manned by highly skilled specialist. It continues to strive for excellence in the field of health care that is accessible and affordable to the community.

THE STRUCTURE
St. Vincent is a 140-bed capacity level two tertiary hospital that is strategically located at the heart of the city specifically at 210-D R. Landon St., Sambag 1, Cebu City, Philippines, it is very accessible via all sorts of transportation systems, as it is proximal to the ports. It is a seven-story health care facility that houses multiple and diverse patient care areas including seven private and public wards that readily accommodate virtually all kinds of patients of various cases and ages. The special units such as the Emergency Room Department, the Operating Room Unit, the Labor Room and the Delivery Room Department, and the Intensive Care Unit cater the more elaborate situations. In addition, this facility has a Renal Unit, an Endoscopy Department, an Ultrasound and 2D Echo Unit, Radiology Department, and a Pharmacy that dispenses relatively tested and safe pharmaceutical products. Moreover, it has a comprehensive diagnostic laboratory, which provides a wide range of services manned by a competent and dedicated workforce utilizing updated technologies and methods. Furthermore, the newly opened rehabilitation unit is equipped with state of the art and cutting-edge facilities.
THE ORGANIZATION
The institution is led by dynamic and committed administrators headed by the President, Dr. Iben A. Ting; the Medical Director, Dr. Nina Angela H. Darcera; the Hospital Administrator; Raymond L. Priagula; and the Chief of Clinics, Dr. Reginita A. Uy.
This team is ably supported by different department and unit heads, consultants, and specialists. The staff is composed of highly dynamic, competent, and qualified medical, non-medical, and nursing service groups.
